Pelly is a sculptor who has travelled extensively, executed commissions for public sculpture, and worked as a lecturer. The medal is one of a series celebrating Orkney, her home since 1988. The title is from an old Norse poem. The medal contrasts the storm with the safety of the ‘dry harbour’ or noust.
