The sculptor Paul Neagu was born in Bucharest in 1938 and moved to London in 1970. The hyphen, with all its ramifications of related forms, was a principal theme of Neagu’s work for ten years. For the artist, it represents that particular moment of mediation between time and space, between energy and matter, a link as a neutral referent of anchoring. Hyphen is a pivot and a pointer’.
