Description

Patrick Hughes was born in 1939. His first solo show was at the Portal Gallery, London, in 1961, and since 1970 he has been showing with Angela Flowers Gallery. His work is in the collections of the Tate Gallery, the Arts Council, the British Council, and Glasgow Museum of Modern Art. He has written on paradoxes, puns and oxymoron. Patrick Hughes lives in Shoreditch, London. About his BAMS medal, Double Dice, the artist writes: ‘I have worked with perspective backwards for forty years. Dice roll by chance – these dice may seem real, may reverse or come forward. It depends on your point of view.’
